Ferries depart for Skopelos from three ports in central Greece. The Port of Volos in the region of Thessaly is the main gateway from the mainland to Skopelos, as itineraries are available throughout the year. During the high season routes are also available from Mantoudi in Evia and Agios Konstantinos in the region of Phthiotis. Moreover, there are ferry crossings from Thessaloniki Port.
Skopelos is also connected by ferry with Skiathos and Alonissos, which form part of the Sporades complex too.

There is no airport on the island of Skopelos. The closest one is located in Skiathos; Skiathos International Airport receives flights from Athens all year round, as well as seasonal flights from several European cities in the summer.
Upon your arrival, it is a good idea to take a taxi for your transfer, since the airport is about 5 kilometers away from the city center of Skiathos. There are always many taxis at the airport's entrance.
Another option is to reach the International Airport of Thessaloniki in northern Greece and proceed to Skopelos by ferry from there, as ferry connections are available during the summer months.

How can I travel there from abroad (London, Paris, and other cities)?

As there is no airport in Skopelos, the most convenient way to get there from abroad is to fly to the neighboring Skiathos and take the ferry from there. Another option would be to fly to the city of Thessaloniki, which is connected to Skopelos by ferry during the summer months. If none of these options are convenient for you, you can fly to Athens and proceed by KTEL bus to the ports of Mantoudi or Volos so as to catch the ferry.

How can I travel there from Athens?

Athens is not connected by ferry to Skopelos. Upon arriving in Athens, you can either take the bus or drive to the ports of Mantoudi and Volos, which are located 130 and 328 kilometers from the Greek capital respectively. From there, you can take the ferry to Skopelos.

How can I travel there from other islands?

Both Skiathos and Alonissos are well-connected by ferry to Skopelos throughout the year. However, as Skiathos is the only island boasting an airport, it is not possible to fly from one island to the other.
