Where is Halkidiki? Halkidiki is a peninsula southeast of Thessaloniki, the country’s second-largest city. Geographically, it's part of the Macedonia region and is easily recognized on a map by its three “legs” that extend into the Aegean Sea: Kassandra (the westernmost and most developed area, known for resorts and nightlife), Sithonia (the middle peninsula, more rugged and natural) and Athos (the easternmost part, a monastic community and UNESCO World Heritage Site, accessible only to men, though boat tours are available for everyone).
This section proposes a map of Halkidiki with all the major locations.
