General information

Kalamitsi Beach is situated on the southeastern side of the Sithonia peninsula, 95 km southeast of Poligiros. It is an idyllic swimming and sunbathing spot, with a lovely, golden seashore washed by the clear waters of the Aegean. The beach has many little coves that visitors can explore, while the stunning green surroundings and rock formations add an extra layer of beauty.

The beach is well-organized and offers visitors plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. A couple of restaurants and cafes are situated just behind the shore, serving delicious Mediterranean dishes and refreshing drinks. The wider region hosts a variety of accommodations, from spacious studios to comfortable apartments. What is more, there is an organized campsite nearby that sees many visitors every summer.

Despite the development, the beach has some open areas free of facilities, ideal for those craving a more independent beach experience. Visitors can lay a towel next to the water and soak in the wonderful atmosphere of Kalamitsi, away from the fuss of big crowds.

Diving enthusiasts will be enthralled by the local diving center, which allows visitors to explore the amazing seabed full of vibrant marine life and colorful plants. Experienced divers can also venture east of the beach, where they will find the Kalamitsi Shipwreck. This is a fascinating and uniquely beautiful landmark, the exact origins of which are bathed in mystery.

    Good for snorkeling
The underwater landscape is great on the southern part of the Kalamitsi north bay.
Starting from the south side of the small island, along the shoreline until the Kalamitsi Camping beach the snorkeling ground is great.
I did not explored the northern part of Kalamitsi bay, but also there the underwater landscape seems to be promising.
