Kato Koufonisi is a tiny paradise located just a few miles from Ano Koufonisi. It is not inhabited and remains unspoiled, boasting beaches of heartrending beauty.

Archaeological findings in Kato Koufonisi comprise a burial site and remnants of buildings from the earliest phases of the Cycladic civilization, as well as some ruins that lie beneath the chapel of Panagia.

Hidden inside a small cave on the right side of Pori Bay, the Devil’s Eye is a natural pool unlike any other in Koufonisia, as the foaming sea water surges back and forth through underground passages, creating a spellbinding sight.

The enigmatic islet of Keros is a significant archaeological site believed to have been the first island-sanctuary in the Aegean and, possibly, in the entire world.

The beautiful church of Agios Georgios stands in Chora, the capital of Koufonisia, and is dedicated to the patron saint of the island. It is built in the traditional Cycladic style, with white walls and a blue dome.

The Archaeological Collection is housed inside an old school building in the heart of Chora. It does not feature a permanent collection, but it often houses temporary exhibitions with material from Koufonisia, Keros and Daskalio.

This is a tiny, uninhabited islet with a lot of lovely caves and crystalline turquoise waters. You can go there by boat from Ano Koufonisi.
