Rhodes Prassonissi beach

General information

The long and large sandy beach of Prasonisi lies 85 km south of Rhodes Town and 40 km southwest of Lindos Village.

The beach consists of two sandy coves which both end in a rocky island that can be either reached on foot or swimming, depending on the level of the waters. The landscape is idyllic and the waters are crystalline. What makes Prasonisi unique is that it is here that the Mediterranean and the Aegean meet, allowing you to switch from one to another. Taverns and rooms for rent can be found close to the beach. However, the beach itself is not organized and does not feature any amenities.

Prasonisi is known as a windsurfing paradise among lovers of the sport. Particularly during July and August, when the north winds known as meltemi are blowing, the beach is crowded with skillful windsurfers daily. Windsurfing equipment is available for rent, even if most surfers bring their own gear.
